Hello Folks, Just a question for Prius owners (specifically, the current [NHW20] model) in Australia -- has you successfully installed a Scangauge II on your Prius? I know that it works just fine on US-delivered Prius models, but I was wondering if there could be some small quirk in Australian Priuses that makes the ScanGauge useless on ours? I am pretty sure it will be okay, but it would be reassuring to hear from other owners' experiences before I hand over the cash. One of the Australian distributors, Ample Outdoors, wasn't helpful ("we have no experience with the Prius" they said...). Thanks for your help.
Wait We just had a customer in Australia that had to return his SGII because his Australian Toyota was not compatible--this was verified with his local Toyota Dealer. Here is what he wrote us: I purchased this Scanguage with much enthusiasm to use in my vehicle. Unfortunately the Scanguage does not operate with my Australian Toyota. I have located and discussed operational issues with 2 Australian distributors and they have confirmed that the Scanguage does work in many other Aust vehicles it will not connect with my vehicle's computer. Consequently I would like to return to the Scanguage. The Scaguage is still in the box with all packaging etc. Can you please inform me of what steps I need to take to return it and a mailing address. Please contact me with any questions. Regards Chris Carr
Re: Wait Thanks for this info, Frank! I wonder what it is that makes the Australian Prius models different to the others? Perhaps a difference in the way the signals are sent in the OBD-II port? If anyone has some further info, I would be very curious to know. Meanwhile, I don't think I'm going to buy a SGII at this stage.......
Frank, I just re-read your post and I missed out on one thing -- your customer returned the SGII because it didn't work on his "Australian Toyota" -- was that an Australian Prius or some other Toyota model?
