If you have SGII rev 4.05+ and are having issues with the occasional corruption with the wonky characters, additional 0's, etc. and are having to go to Default Reset to correct, Linear-Logic would like to hear from you.

I recently contacted Linear-Logic to see if they had resolved this issue. Cristina Bollinger with Technical Support replied that they have not. They have a Prius on site but she said that they have not been able to recreate the problem in order to know how to fix the problem.

She has asked any Prius Chat members that are having this problem to contact her and let her know what it is you are doing when this problem occurrs. I sent her a summary of what I have been doing at the time it occurs to see if anything helps. I have not been able to detect a pattern as to when or how this happens with me.

Good thing I was lazy and didn't send mine in for the upgrade. ;)

    Spiderman,

Well, yes, but the many pros to 4.05+ outweigh the single con of the corruption issue in my opinion. The ability to see so much more hybrid system data with the multi-frame messaging is a pretty good pro feature. It has been fun working with Vincent on new data mapping and testing :)

The only issue with the corrupted data is that I have to reset to defaults and I lose my trip data. Other than that it is just the pain of having to reset and reconfigure the Setup menu. Once that is done I am good to go until the next time I want to modify X-Gauges.

Having said that, if I had a pre-4.05 version would I send it in for upgrade right now? I might wait a little longer and see if Linear-Logic figures out this bug.

Thank you. :) I have a V 3.15 I was going to send in but I'll take your advice and wait a little while.

I posted about my issues w/4.05 at http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...on/95208-scangauge-4-05-problems-2nd-gen.html on my Gen 2.

I even spoke to Ron DeLong (developer of the SG) briefly at Green Drive Expo late last year (I didn't have enough time at the show). I briefly mentioned my problems and due to some miscommunication, he thought I had a Gen 3 and not a Gen 2. They do have a Gen 2 in house, so I wonder if they have been able to repro my issues (they're easy to repro).

Since I've become sorta busy and am hesitant to ship SGs back and forth and to pay for another update (I didn't have to pay for mine upgrade to 4.05), I sorta put the issue on the back burner.

If I find some more time, I'll try to make a video of it and post it on YouTube so that they can see it. Might help them w/trying to repro the problem.

Yes, they are very easy to reproduce to me. That is why I have a hard time understanding why they say they cannot reproduce it. It makes me question how hard they are really trying to repo it.

I sent in a very thorough list of what I am doing at the time it screws up. Hopefully that will help some.

I think a video would be much better than a text writeup.

    Thanks
