I just picked up my new 2010 Prius II. Plan on upgrading to a double-din in-dash navigation system. I've noticed everybody else is having to order kits from England and then purchase a Metra kit that has 2 side panels. I checked Scosche's web site and they have a kit for the 2010 Prius. Has anybody used this kit yet? I noticed that it is currently out of stock, so I'm assuming somebody is buying it. www(dot)scosche(dot)com.
There is a thread about that kit already. The OP said the kit should be available the first part of this year. Should be a cost savings over the setup you mentioned above. Use the search function to find the thread.
This must of just came out & it's about time. Metra will be releasing their version sometime in January. This is great news, now we can all begin our installs.
My bad... I was thinking Metra, not Scosche. Thanks ajc for pointing that out. Glad to see that they are both coming out with a kit though.
Looks like you can also do single DIN Units with the kit too. Great, I might just pull my expensive UK surround for this kit. I didn't like the UK surround all that much.
for what its worth, metra said the finish would be an exact match when i called....but saying and doing are different stories altogether.
Yeah, I remember that and got that mixed up with this kit. I like the way this kit is setup and hope the Metra is similar (just with the right texture). If so and the price is right, I may just replace the UK surround.
