Insurance will pick up the tab, as I am told it is way more expensive than what I will loose in no-claim discount if I were to pay for it myself... (dealer discussed maybe door-replacement is in order, others said >1000euro (equals >1000$)) But now for the good news: discussed it with the Toyota dealer and they reckon I can get a loancar for the duration of the repair (couple of days). And one of their loancars is a Plug-in They didn't have a 7 seater wagon, but the plugin was my second choice that I would love a test-drive in, let alone a several day long testdrive. Problem is I could also have the car repaired in my small town (support my local economy, Toyota dealer is a few towns away). But then no loaner.
