Hey, New on the forum, got my 2005 prius for a year now, loving it! Just had a small accident, not my fault. Perfectly recorded on my front dashcam. Still got another left and planning on installing it in the rear. It will fot perfectly on the lower rear window, but there is no cigarette lighter in the back... Where to pull the 12V for the cam?? Is there a 12V line in the hatch??? If not, I was planning on connecting it to the number plate lighting, as I always drive with lights on, it should work just fine. Any thoughts on this? Is there a 12V in the back, or is connecting to the lights a good second best option? Thanks! Zoltan
The 12 volt auxiliary battery is located in one side (right?) of the hatch. You would need to be sure you have a fuse inline though.
True, but it would be "always on". I want it to only record while driving. For a clean look I am looking for a "12V when powered on" in the tailgate. (hmm hatch, tailgate... my car-english is not perfect)
