I have a 2013 Prius III with the standard cloth seats. I would like to know if anyone here has information whether the mounting for right hand drive and left hand drive seats is identical. Here is the reason I ask: My wife needs more seat adjustability than the passenger side front-back and seat back tilting up and down. The seat height would be really helpful to alleviate pain (especially during long drives) caused by a genetic disorder than involves joint dislocations and other discomforts of overly-elastic connective tissue (ligaments and tendons), it is called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome in case anyone is interested. I would like to buy a driver's side replacement seat from a RHD country in order to have more adjustment available for her. If there are any members from RHD countries that can provide pictures, measurements, etc for the seat mounts it would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, I can provide pictures, measurements, etc from the LHD car I own. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
No other thoughts from anyone else? Has anyone around here removed seats in order to install sound-dampening materials or anything like that? Might it be as simple as buying a RHD seat frame and reuse the bottom cushion and back?
I can't say I've looked under my seats much but I guess it's just a standardised frame. The RHD drivers seat can be raised and lowered by a lever and also has electric lumber support. The passenger seat (your driver side) doesn't have either. All our cars have airbags and have had since the early 90's. The Prius front seats have the side airbags included. I'm guessing the wiring will be the same as there doesn't seem much difference in the gen3 solar throughout the world. If you are tempted to order one, be aware our prices are much higher due to 20% sales tax and the shipping won't be cheap either. Maybe you could find one on ebay?
