Just saw a nice show on EnergyNow about biodegradable plastics and Seattle Mariners stadium use thereof. The megatons of Mariners stadium waste goes to a Seattle compost facility for processing. Mariners stadium also using low flow toilets, LED lights etc., but I want to focus on the composting. This is my idea of what we need to be doing nationwide. Not just composting, but also plastics recycling, waste-to-energy etc. Of course, most areas will refuse to build compost plants. In that case biodegradable materials may actually hurt the environment (due to methane releases). I live in Virginia which specializes in importing trash from a large portion of the US (NY etc). Think we mostly bury it. Energy Efficient Summer - 09.04.2011 | Energy Now
