I've seen a Tesla but never seen a green one...to top it off he needs a license frame that says "it's easy being green"
It just occurred to me that the car had California plates. I wonder how he managed to get it cross country? My guess is he had it shipped, otherwise you're looking at a very, very long extension cord.
I saw the cofounder's car (unique paint scheme) crossing the Bay Bridge several months back. They're all over the place out here.
No, but I have seen close to 30 of them on the road. I saw 24 of them in a row on Highway 84 (a great sports car road) east of Skyline in San Mateo County California and a few of the them in other places since then.
I still think the 917 is gorgeous - there's something eternal about teenage crushes, isn't there? And cars designed by eye, without benefit of wind tunnels and computers. Which are just tools, after all, not substitutes for imagination. No Tesla around here yet. And Aptera only on the screensaver. Sigh.
Longer trips have been taken. You just need to scope out chargers and or RV parks along the way. However, my first guess would be the same as yours, that it was shipped.
Can you really get much longer than from the west coast to the east coast? I mean...Maine maybe...but not much further. A trip like that would be interesting. Could you put a genny somewhere in the car and use it when you stop?
At one point there was a genset on a trailer you could pull behind the car, but you're really better off, economy-wise and pollution-wise to drive a regular car. An EV is for when you can use electricity. With reference to the green car, I prefer the color they call "very orange." This is not my car. Just a picture from Google Images. But it's the same color.
Given the choice, I think I'd take the dark red, or maybe the silver. But that orange is pretty snazzy, alright - you'll have to find some sunglasses to match.
