The Nissan Leaf electric car successfully negotiated a section of the Sagami Expressway in Kanagawa prefecture, southwest of Tokyo, with two important passengers on board--the prefecture's Governor, Yuji Kuroiwa, and Nissan Vice Chairman Toshiyuki Shiga.
