Service plug

    Waiting for my Prius PHP (AKA Prius Prime), I am spending some leisure time reading the owner manual. At page 104 of the OM is mentioned a "service" plug. Does anybody know what is its purpose?

    it disconnects the battery from the rest of the car for service and removal, as well as for first responders in an accident.

    So that is the orange plug, smaller now. And accessible from rear of trunk, interesting.

    It’s all overkill anyway as the ground is forward and inaccessible from the trunk area. Now if one were working around/ on the inverter then the service plug should be removed.

    When I got hit the fire department disconnected the 12 volt. :confused:
