This ebay listing, and many others like it are selling what looks like one of the two steel components on the abs pump.. the listing year is for gen2 and reference the abs pump part number on all these ebay listings.

i swapped my abs with a used piece a few years ago, and am looking into a new one right now.

i was under the impression the gen2 pump isnt able to be worked on, but this listing is making me think twice

Okay the ABS actuator is one piece on the generation 2 on the generation 3 it's two separate pieces that are recommended to be replaced at the same time the total cost of the two jobs is about the same because in the end both pieces or the one piece on the generation 2 are about the same money but you're working on a generation too. So you have a one-piece break actuator you can physically replace the pump on that block it's available this is a fact the problem is is your pump is running all the time because that black thing next to the pump call the accumulator somewhere between that accumulator and inside of that aluminum block something is letting pressure out of the accumulator it goes down immediately the pump comes back on that little clicking noise you hear to pump back up the accumulator to the pressure that was there a second ago and it goes on and on and on and on if the pump was bad it would probably never pump up to pressure but it is pumping up to pressure and then the pressure is going somewhere internally we call it I guess and then you buy an actuator it may be possible to buy the accumulator but I'm not sure about that and it's kind of tricky to replace and then it's the end leak is internal and not in the accumulator itself only you're still screwed. So then you'd wind up buying a pump and accumulator screw that all on find out that doesn't fix the problem because it's internal and then get to take all that apart and out again and go hunt down and actuator so you put on a used actuator? And it's already gone bad again wow I've never seen that that's pretty cool I guess or maybe not I'm at 500,000 in two cars both of them had actuators it between 2 and 300K and they still working pretty much like new today. I didn't realize that these things could get funny again but I guess using a used one sure the used one is now gone bad I don't know how many miles are on it when you lifted it and used it so probably around 300K or something 250 seems reasonable but now if I have to do it again I can do this in about 2.2 hours I'm certainly not paying $1,400 for the part I have two used ones sitting out here I'll use those first then by that time my life may be expired no worries for no more breaks
