I told you guys that the Toyota mechanic came out and chat with me on the new Prius when I took it in for its 1st oil change. The service technician told me that at cruise control at 40mph will keep the Prius in running with electric motor only (gas engine only charge the battery when needed). Have anyone experienced that before? I don't have such road nearby where I can keep cruising at 40mph for a while without stopping or get stare at.

I doubt that. I have never been able to keep mine in EV at any speed over 24-25 MPH. Depending on the state of charge of the traction battery, it often refuses to stay in EV at speeds as low as 9 MPH.

mine will hold 40 without burning gas. But it is not in ev mode it in just not using gas. But it will not go up any kind of hill/grade with out lossing all the speed or me having to push the pedal witch starts the ICE. I doubt it would go much father than a half mile not burning gas.
