I checked with one of the suppliers of the Shark Fin antenna and ask how would the reception be for satellite radio using the Shark Fin. He replied that the Prius antenna that is installed on the car only works for AM/FM and that there was a separate antenna for satellite radio. In which case the Shark Fin installation does not affect satellite reception. Does anyone with a Shark Fin installation is this is correct. This is on a 2011 Prius with factory installed satellite radio.
That is correct, getting the Shark Fin installed will not effect the XM reception. They are separate antenna's. The XM antenna is build into somewhere around the driver or passenger seat. No worries. I'm waiting on my fin antenna as well.
