I sold my wife's 2001 Echo to buy a 2010 Prius and today, she took her first drive. She loves it!

We started with the seat, adjusting the height was a big win! My wife doesn't like to be 'short' or be seen as 'small' so she pumped it up to where she felt like she was 'in charge of all that see sees.'

It took a little practice for her to learn that the shifter is not mechanical, just switches that can be moved easily with the hand. She really had a 'death grip' on the shifter so we practiced going into gear and "P" a couple of times.

As we drove around, she quickly adapted to the engine running only when needed. The quiet and smooth power was a big winner, a very big winner. So as we sat at a stop light, I pointed out:
    • it is quieter than my 03 - she smiled
    • it is bigger than my 03 - she smiled bigger
    • it is more powerful than my 03 - she smiled a devilish grin
    • it is more efficient than my 03 - and pure happiness in her smile
We do what we can to make our wives happy and sometimes, we get it right.

Thank you Toyota and Team Prius,
    Bob Wilson

A most important question: Will she let you turn her car into another rolling laboratory?? ;)

Of course not ... but if the 'smoke escapes' from my 03, we'll have to get another Prius, right?

Bob, I can think of a few wires to cross to make that happen. Mine is already jealous of the improved NAV system after fighting w/ voice (which I rarely used) in the 2004 (doesn't understand much w/ the A/C blasting).

I think the next step in this thread is the "She loves MY 2010... what do I do?"
