Question: how far ahead of time did most of you find out that your Prius would be delivered? Question: how far in advance do the dealers even know? I ordered a Barcelona Red #2 with gray interior in March, and told my dealer I was flexible on color. In mid-April, after just five weeks of waiting, he called and said that a Barcelona Red #2 with beige interior was leaving the factory; if I wanted it, they could reserve it for me. Sure! I didn't think that the vehicles were allocated until they reached the States, but I'm no expert -- I'll take it. I was then told that it was to be loaded on the boat from Japan, and ought to arrive here in Minnesota by the end of May. Well, that was ten weeks ago now, and all I've heard is that it ought to be here in June. How long does a car take to get from the factory to the dealer? I don't think I've been misled, but I'm suspicious that "my" car was not reserved at the proper time and thus may have gone to someone else. Or does 10 weeks seem reasonable for delivery?
