I just got side moldings for my Barcelona red 2010 Prius from right here on Prius chat. When ordering them, the picture example in the Prius Chat store looks like they are much higher up on the sides of the car than on the picture of the installation directions that came with the moldings. I liked the way they looked in the example in the Prius Chat store picture. The 131/4 inches on the installation directions look too low to me. I have a body shop that is going to install them this week for $40.00. Do you think I can move them up higher than the directions. If so, how much and how should I explain this to the body shop? Any help is appreciated!
you can install them however you want...lower/higher. the picture on the priuschat website is higher than what is in the instructions. you should put them where you think you will get the most protection. i have them a bit higher than the instructions and saved my rear passenger door from a door ding. i am glad i have them on my prius.
Any suggestions on if the moldings protect the car more if they are higher or lower on the car. Maybe the instructions have them lower for a reason?
