Ok, I've searched and searched, but haven't found any solutions. I still love my 2010 Prius, it's been a great car to me. But, like anything that has electronics and is six years old, the electronics are sluggish compared to anything modern. The biggest problem I have is with Siri and voice dictation on my iPhone. Both, when not hooked up to the vehicle, are lightning fast ... as they should be. But the Prius treats both of these like I am making a phone call, and it takes ages (comparatively) when doing so. I do like having the ability to answer actual phone calls while driving via bluetooth, and I listed to music via bluetooth exclusively. So disabling is not an option. Has anyone found any workarounds or solutions?
No but at least Siri works through the car, rather than disconnecting the bluetooth and working from the phone. There is a delay but I treat it like a poor man's Siri EyesFree. (or Siri EyesFree beta)
As the phone connects over bluetooth, activating Siri is no different than placing a cell phone call as far as the Prius is concerned. More so, if you want to let Siri do things like navigation, you have to set your sound system to Bluetooth so you can hear it because audio from the iPhone (non telephonic) is sent over the sound BT connection. Better just to not connect your phone to the BT system if you use Siri a lot.
