My 2007 Prius was involved in a hit and run Nov 9th. The car was parked, on a street, and someone sideswiped the driver side scraping the paint and shearing off the side view mirror. Since it was hit and run I am out the $500 deductible. The initial repair est is $1500. Anyway, when I take it into the body shop I am going to shut off the SKS in order to reduce the battery drain while it is in for repair. They est 3-5 days. As an experiment I disabled the SKS by pushing in the switch under the steering wheel. That worked, but I noticed the light on the dash is still flashing. I thought that should go out is the SKS is shut off. Should it?
The SKS has nothing to do with the flashing car. That flashing light indicates the engine immobilizer is active.
