New here to the forums, so greetings from NW Iowa. Miles are adding up on our 2nd Prius, but the one we drive now is a basic 2014 model. Having issue filling with gas. So slow going in... Tipping the gas nozzle upside down helps a little. A couple times leaving the car run helped, then I heard a gurgling sound as it filled at the gas fill opening. Otherwise you have to pump it in as slow as the lever will allow. And takes a while. Any ideas? Answers? Thanks
We’ve had the car several years. Bought it with several thousand miles on it , now it has 125 thousand. It did fill good for several years but slowly got worse over the last several years.
No bladder in a 2014. If it filled well before, then it may be time for somebody to bone up on diagnosis of the ORVR (onboard refueling vapor recovery) system. This wiki page describes how to get access not only to the repair manuals, but to the Toyota technician training course handbooks and quick technical guides. For systems that are kind of involved, like ORVR, those can be very helpful alongside the manual.
