Are there any decent covers out there for the smart key? The buttons on mine keep accidentally pressing themselves in my pocket (and frustratingly when I actually do want to lock./unlock the car it seems to ignore the button press about 10% of the time). I want something that puts a kind of raised lip around the buttons so they are recessed, but doesn't physically cover them. And I don't want silicone. The closest I found was a TPU cover on Ebay. The quality doesn't look that great, but I guess it's worth a try for $10, so I ordered one. Ideally I would like something made of hard plastic that the key snaps into. Does anyone have a 3D printer and a way to make that?
Amazon has some that are interesting, kind of like this one: And this site in China has a lot at cheap prices and mostly free shipping: toyota prius 2017 - Buy toyota prius 2017 with free shipping on AliExpress - page 2
I bought two different ones from Amazon, but neither of them have the raised lip you are seeking. Our pre-owned 2017(three) only came with one smartkey, so I had to buy the second. Luckily, I was able to get the dealer to split the cost with me so I "only" spent $175 for the fob, steel key, and programming. (Yes, had I been thinking when I bought the car I -could- have mixed the deal unless they supplies a second key. 'Course, they could have bumped up my finance charges too...) Anyway, the contrast between the shiny new smart key and the full, scratched up old one prompted me to buy the covers. One is faux "leather" with a clear face that actually has a long screw that holds it on. Downside is that you'd need a screwdriver to access the emergency door key. The other is all plastic/vinyl and just slips on. As I say, neither of them will do much to stop accidental key presses. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
