Hi all. About to buy a 2007 Prius which is covered by the warranty up until dec 2010. One of the smart keys are not working and the guy selling the car said "its ok it can be replaced under warranty." Thing is I have searched and searched but can not find for sure whether it would be covered by warranty. So any ideas? Its a germen model. Thanks in advance. John
Anyone? Really dont want to say I will buy the car if I have to fork out $450 for a new key over here.... With the info I can haggle!
I think this is a country specific question so I imagine you would need an answer from someone in your country. Not sure if there are others from Norway on the site. Why not call a Toyota dealer and ask them since you'd have to get the new key there anyway?
Ah ok then. Wasnt sure if that was the case. I will ring Toyota tomorrow and find out. Thanks for the answer. John
No idea for Norway, but I would be really surprised if the smart key is covered by a long warranty. Tom
John R. also needs to ask whether a car sold in Germany would continue to have a valid warranty in Norway. For example, a Toyota sold in the United States would not have manufacturer's warranty coverage outside the US and Canada.
Hi there. Yes I have checked that as I am the current owner of the 2005 Prius american Import..... No guarantee on that one. Luckily they honor the german guarantee in Norway. Thanks again.
