I wouldn't think it's possible, and it hasn't happened to me. They key fob is like any other electronic device... there's a very slight EM field it emits, but it's not big enough to demagnitize anything. In fact, i'd be willing to bet it's less than what typical cell phones put out, and i've never heard of one of those damaging a credit card.
