I just looked at an '05 Prius w/ 55,000 miles. They're asking $12700. I'm pretty stoked, but then I go and check the oil after my drive...I didn't see any oil on the dipstick. I'm no mechanical genius, but that sounds bad to me. Really bad. Maybe since I checked it right after I drove it...could that make it low?
It can be difficult to see it on the dipstick if they just changed it. Looking at the stick from an angle may help. If it is truly low, inspect under the engine for oil leaks.
One of the many local dealers checked the car out and said it's a great car! I'm getting it for $12400. Exciting!
The Prius engine oil stay remarkably clean. I've never had a car where the oil stayed so clean even with 5k or so miles on the oil
