software crash on multi-information display

Well, that was interesting.....

I normally keep my multi-information display on either compass/speed limit or on audio information. Yesterday, I switched from compass to audio and was greeted by a totally blank display. Switching through all of the other displays (using the < and > arrows on the steering wheel) gave the expected displays - only the audio was completely blank.

Turning the audio system on and off made no difference.

Power cycling the entire car brought it back.

I'm a software engineer by trade - looks like sloppy code and nothing watching for crashed tasks, just like the run-away acceleration ECU problems a while back.

Sigh...
