I'm not sure what good prices are on solar panels but I saw this 'deal' on another website and wanted to share it if it is in fact good and it can help anyone who is considering buying or upgrading.

If the deal sucks let me know so we can delete this thread lol.

Prior thread I was also asking typical prices for panels like this, because it does not seem to me too much cheaper than 3-4 years ago. I was considering a solar panel for boat trolling motor, would need to be about this size you have here.

That is a very good price for Kyocera panels at $1.65/watt. Those tend to be a bit more expensive than other brands.

Just another sign as to how much panel prices have been declining lately.

16% is pretty average for panel efficiency now days - as new panels are breaking into the 20% efficiency level. Of course, you pay dearly for the privelage of having high power levels in a small package. The higher efficiencies in new panels is what's bringing the costs down on the older stuff. We paid thru the nose for our 18.5% efficient panels a few years ago, when they were closer to being 'top of the line'. But we have a skinny roof, so we needed high efficiency in order to get the power we need. But heck, if you got the space? Go low efficiency and get 'em cheep ... and just buy more of 'em.

The price of a PV panel per watt is only one factor in a grid tie installation. Bottom line is what is the installed price, per AC watt out of the inverter?

The current going rate Is ~$5/watt before rebates and tax credits. The price continues to fall.
