    OK, I don't get it, why did they build a 2 mile man made tunnel for trains?

    If you do that, I can understand why you would cover it with solar panels, but why do the first part?

    The only thing I can come up with is to improve the view and noise for local residents and/or there was a problem with people getting on the track. Otherwise it could have just been a covering of solar panels.
