Hi i have 2007 model prius i started my car came to my office today turned my car off and like after 10 minutes i tried to start the car again the problem occurred i felt there is some battery issue the start button light was dim and the car was still off.i tried to press the button again and again but no use.i tried few time and the car than start the clock of the car was reset and the millage too back cam was not showing the angle i turned of the car n turned it on again the back cam was working fine with the direction.but the same thing happened to me after i drove to some other place turned off the car for more than 2 hours.need help to rectify the issue. Yes, it does look like your 12 volt battery (found under the floor in the trunk) needs to be replaced and/or the cables connected to the battery need to be examined to see if they are making good contact.
The correct battery is an AGM 12V battery made by GS Yuasa. If you can't get a battery which is an exact replacement for that, then install whatever will fit in the available space. However if you install a battery with liquid electrolyte, then you run some risk in the event of an accident that impacts the right rear fender. The battery case may crack, leaking acid everywhere in the vicinity. Try to find a battery that has the positive terminal on the left, when you are looking at the battery with the terminals closest to you. If the battery terminal polarity is reversed, you'll have to install the battery with the terminals adjacent to the fender, which constitutes a further safety issue. The correct battery has JIS-size terminals, which are smaller than the terminals on many batteries - so if you install a different battery you may need to install different terminal connectors.
