Some site slowdowns today

    I noticed this morning that the site was noticeably slower than it has been since we moved to the new server, so I inquired with our server admin to find out the cause. I found out that there was a cut in the fiber going to one of the datacenters, so there is increased latency today because of that. Hopefully it'll be back to normal soon.

    We sorry for the latency issue. At this point we have been told that the fiber line has been cut and the crew is actively working to restore it. They gave us an ETA of about 2.5 hours (from this point). We have several other providers which is why you are online still.

    And thank you for your patience in this matter.

    Whew. I was afraid that the increase in traffic was already starting to overwhelm the new server. Maybe not for a few more weeks anyway, eh? :_>
