It's been a rough 3 weeks; I attended a murder trial for one of the conspirators in the murder of a friend of mine a couple of years ago. This was a courthouse about 50 miles away, with 15 freeway miles. I ended up with about 70 mpg each way, without recharging during the day. The go-between was found guilty, and the wife who took out the hit turned state's evidence in return for taking the death penalty off the table. The shooter's death penalty trial will be next year. At the end of the day going home, driving the Plug-in was a very soothing way to leave the gory details of court testimony behind and relax. I also had 2 different funerals to go into town for; a friend of mine's mom and also another old friend. Oh, and then my younger brother found out he had a large tumor in his colon and had surgery last weekend and I've been making multiple trips to the hospital 20 miles away. Fotunately, the tumor pathology shows benign, and he's expected to make a full recovery after a colon re-section, but will end up cutting back his work to part time. Now i think i can get back to my normal AARP routine of short-range domestic chores.
