2003 Does Prius have an altenator or is the 12v battery regenerative also? I tried to look, but there is so many shields and stuff under the hood and under the car, I can't tell. Thanks in advance.
Hi Ibiwisi, I am pretty sure the 2000 through 2003 Prii have a DC-DC converter, which charges the 12 V battery from the Hybrid Battery, just like the newere Prius. So, no Alternator. There is a belt driven (off the front of the engine) Air Conditioning condensor, where as the newer Prius has the variable speed DC motor driven condensor.
