Hi! I just purchased my first prius a couple of days ago, it's an 07 package #2. After bringing it back to the dealer to have the alarm installed I noticed that whenever I stepped on the gas after a full stop, the car would make a "switching" sound (if that makes sense) like the gears were switching or if you've ever driven a stick, like how it feels when you release the clutch a bit too early. I'm sure it's nothing too major and I'm just probably being paranoid, but this being my first hybrid car i want to make sure everything is perfect. Any advice? Thanks!

If the gas engine is off when you're stopped in traffic, and then you press the throttle with any significant force, it will start up as the car begins rolling on electric power only; perhaps this is what you're feeling? The car freaked me out at first and I was hypersensitive to its noises and vibrations, but now I'm driving the wheels off of it, as with any other... [laughing] Glad to have the extended warranty, though.
