ALCON, I found this site Spark ev for a under $20,000 fully EV ZOTYE. I don't know if it is a real EV car. Some of the pictures have a tail pipe :-( Do any of y'all have some background on them? The parent company is Wuzheng North America. If it is true this is very neat and could be worth a trip to PA to test one.
The webpage has been updated to answer your question. I'll save you the trouble: They import the complete gasoline vehicle (most likely from a Chinese company). They then remove all the ICE components and install the EV components. You are buying a new EV conversion.
Is this the guy that's been scamming the EV community for years? Advertising and taking money and never delivering anything?
Do NOT do any business with Spark~EV (aka Michael Papp). He still owes me a Zoom EV Scooter from last July 2007. He says it is in his 'shop', but will not send it, nor answer my emails. I checked with his 'listed Florida distributor'. They said that they were 'considering' carrying his products, but got concerned when he kept coming up with excuses why they could not visit his 'assembly facility' in Penna. DO NOT SEND THIS GUY ANY MONEY!!!!!!! Too bad the EV community has been 'blighted' with such SCUM!
Spark-EV ZOTYE "Update" Well, he's been 'caught' again! No Zotye 'conversion' ever existed. Police put brakes on Wilson scam- NJ.com Police put brakes on Wilson scam- NJ.com
At the bottom of the "About Us" page: Spark-EV Electric Vehicles - About Us A quick Googling came up with this: Wuzheng - Chinese Trucks in North America at China Car Times
Michael Papp is a crook. Neither more nor less. Never sold a car. Never had a car to sell. But he'll gladly take your money and promise you one. Spark-EV is a scam. A lot has been said bad about Zap, but Zap sells real cars. I've been driving mine for close on to a year now. They're not well-built. But you get product for your money. Not so with Spark-EV.
