I put my PriusChat splash guards on this morning and discovered that one of my lug nuts on my 1400 mile/2008 Touring Prius was so tight that I had to use a 18" breaker bar and 21mm socket to remove it. All of the rest of the lug nuts on the rear wheels were reasonably tight. Just a heads up that it may be worth checking the torque on your lug nuts before trying to get one or more off in the middle of the night on the freeway with that minimally effective lug nut wrench provided with your Prius I torqued the rears to 76 ft-lbs. Does anyone know if the fronts have the same torque values, I assumed that they do.
One of the MANY reasons I throw out the spare and only use a 12v compressor and tire plug kit in my cars and trucks. I can fill and plug a tire in any weather in 5 minutes or less. Ive been doing that for 21 years and never had a problem or needed a spare. I must have plugged 20+ tires.
