anyways wanted to share it with you guys: my kids play "spot the Prius" game. Gets rowdy sometimes but hey happy they have something to do in car.. The rules are simple: one point for GenII or GenIII 5 points for GenI (rare and harder to spot) 10 points for black squirrel (don't ask) /There is also a rule about black squirrel driving GenI Prius, but there is a disagreement on how much that worth./
My kids have long grown up and moved on. I do find myself counting Prii on trips, even without the kids I have grandchildren coming of age and I will have to teach them how to spot Prii !!
My son, 3, thinks the only Prius that is actually a Prius are those identical to our 2009 Silver Pine Mica Prius. I tried to explain to him that the new car we presently drive around in is also a Prius. He says "Dis not a prius car!" lol He was very fond of the green prius. lol
There is a back story how all this started. We were on the trip to Yellowstone last year, and park rangers gave kids a score card to spot wild life (mule deer, coyote, grizzly, eagle, buffalo, etc). My little daughter was hopelessly loosing, so she counted Prii in "other animals" category.
In San Francisco, this would be a VERY fast paced intense game! I see a few Gen 1's around, not many Gen 3's yet
Funny. I play this on the way home from work every time I commute. Average in a 40 mile trip is 23-28. I count all gens as 1. I see maybe one or two Insights, and maybe a Volt now and then.
On cross-country trips as a kid, we counted Clabber Girl signs. I'll bet 90% of our members don't know what those are. Since dad worked for GM, we also named the model and year of every Chevy we saw.
