Saw this solar car today as we drove past the soccer fields in Redmond--he just came down from Alaska, and will be driving to Olympia tomorrow. Uses a 10kW motor, with four Li-Ion polymer batteries. See this for more details. He says he's going to have to cut his trip short because of a lack of sponsors, but just set a record for the longest trip by a solar-powered vehicle. I was a little surprised to see the charge rate at only about 300mA on a partly sunny day, but didn't ask what the charge state was. Pretty cool looking car!
