Hey everyone, I was driving a few mins ago and coming to a stop sign. As I'm almost fully stopped, my car lightly jolted. The stability control symbol lit up for a few secs. Everything functioned normally after. Has anyone experienced this? Should I have my car inspected?
In my experience, the usual manhole-cover business just involves the car switching from regen to braking earlier than it had planned to, and feels like a tiny instant of 'slip' but doesn't light the traction light. If the traction light came on, you should be able to see why using Techstream's "ABS History", if you're curious enough. Freeze frames from the most recent four times ABS or traction control happened are stored there.
This happens to me when trying to stop on very uneven surfaces - potholes, etc. It seems like it happens more often when my tires are old.
