I have a 49 Oldsmobile....Club Coupe no less. Does anyone know anything about the electric starter on this car? Thanks. Chris
Yeah, it's most likely run off a six volt battery unless someone has updated to 12 volts. You turn the key, press the button, and it engages, (or not).
I realize you are mocking because you have another thread where you are angry non-PiP people are posting in your precious forum... However, there are many very knowledgeable people on this forum. Many know more about the Prius' inner working for any generation than anyone outside of a Toyota head engineering center would know. Ontop of that there are many people on here that are brilliant in most respects to any vehicle. If you had a serious question about your 60 year old car, this is a good place to find a person that will know. If you have a solar question, this is a good place too. Your car benefits from the same exact grid-tie capabilities that the other Prii are capable of. And as far as I know, none of them have PiPs. You're not going to make many friends here with your current attitude, and many people on here are people you want to be friendly to.
The starter motor mechanically connects to the flywheel to turn the engine. Make sure the negative terminal on the battery has a solid connection to the engine. Keep the battery terminals clean.
