Hi y’all, Long time reader, first time poster. Our 2015 Prius is producing this weird clicking sound when turning the steering wheel. This seems to come from inside instead of the actual wheel, suspension or what not. It produces the noise whether car is moving or not. Can someone help identify where the issue could be? Much appreciated! I couldn’t embed the YouTube video for some reason and could not include a link as a new registered user. I’ll see if I can include the link in the reply.
Thank you, Bisco. It was my first post and I discovered that it required moderator approval. Since I couldn't wait the entire day for feedback, let alone wait until I had multiple poststo include YouTube links, I decided to seek assistance from a repair shop. Upon inspection, the shop determined that the culprit was the intermediate shaft, and they proceeded to make the necessary replacement. The original noise was resolved. However, a different noise originating from the rack and pinion was identified by the shop. I have authorized the replacement of the rack and pinion in an effort to address this new issue. The repair costs break down as follows: Intermediate shaft: $1,039.38 Rack & pinion: $1,533.96 I am hoping that these repairs will successfully resolve the issues I've been experiencing. I'll try to see if I can post the video later in case other people experience the same.
63,349, we might’ve acquired it in 2014. But yeah, this steering thing came out of nowhere. I just got the car back and it seems fixed now.
