I installed a new Android head unit in my 2013 prius . Everything works but the steering wheel buttons. The volume side is set up thru the stereo unit, but it shouldn't affect the other side.

Is it a power to the buttons Issue?

    Please help if you can!

Does your Prius have the Touch Tracer display, or not? It may matter because the buttons work differently; without TT, they are just ordinary buttons wired back from the steering wheel, but with it (in order to carry more signals through the same number of spiral-cable wires), they connect to an eety-beety computer in the steering wheel, that uses the same few wires to send button codes.

Maybe your situation is similar to this one. That looked likely to be a simple grounding issue.
