Just got a new-to-me Prius V (2014, pkg 5). I've owned two Gen 2 prii in the past, so I got used to pulse and glide and super highway mode. But, on my Prius V, I can't get it to glide consistently for the life of me - it seems to be possible, but the accelerator is just way too sensitive for me to hold for more than a second at "exactly" zero - no recharging, no EV. I'm always flipping between one bar charging and 1-2 bars of consumption. Is there a sticky or guide on how to drive this thing to get the best MPG on a Prius V? -->Adam
The ECO/normal/PWR modes are all user interface options for the accelerater. If the one you are using is not serving you well, try a different one.
ECO desensitizes the loud pedal, and limiting A/C and heat places lowest environmental loads on the ICE.
the software has changed since gen 2, to take advantage of pulse and glide mpg advantage. the car now does it for you. best you can do is a modicum of juice when gliding. relax and enjoy the show.
