Hello everyone, I bought my Prius on February 14 this year, 2 days before the act was signed. I remember the salesman told me that the tax amount for my purchase could be deducted from my taxes next year. That is over $2,000 which could have returned over $600 to me next year. As it turns out, only vehicles purchased on or after Feb 16 will be eligible for this deduction. Does anyone know of any other incentives that may be available to the buyers of Prius that could result in some tax savings for calendar year 2009? Thank you. David
I think your only hope is to deduct your sales taxes instead of income taxes. But being in California, that probably won't help you.
