I had my first oil change last week. When I started the car to leave the dealership, I heard a strange noise coming from the front left of the car. It almost sounded like a dog barking! I turned the car off and restarted it and did not hear the noise. I drove to mall and parked and shopped for about 1/2 hour and when I restarted the car it barked at me again. Is this coincidence or something related to the oil change? I also had the tires rotated at the same time.

There is a new dog bakery in town...I will stop in on my way to get groceries today. Seriously...is this a problem? Maybe it made the noise all along and I didn't notice until I had the oil changed? It has always made various noises when I start the car but I really don't think it has barked at me before...and my cats are getting annoyed with me because they think I am cheating on them with a dog!
if the dealer rotated the tires and you can isolate the area where the noise is coming (IE: left front, left rear or wherever) from I'd take it back and tell them you have an issue with it and you want them to look at it. Anytime you have it serviced and you have a problem I'd take it back. If it's been cold there have been lots of comments about the coolant pump making noise. If it's repeatable note the conditions when it does it and tell them about that as well.
Well, it didn't do it at all today. The temperature has been roughly the same since the oil change...mid 30's to mid 40's. I keep an eye on it and if it starts again I will call the dealership where I had it serviced.
search for "brakes barking" and see if that matches what you're experiencing. i don't think we've come up with a reason for brakes barking yet.
