I have a 2012 Prius V and it has been the best car we have ever owned. Never a problem. Until now just as we were getting ready to sell it. Makes this intermittent noise when driving and also at rest ( but not all the time ). Its about every maybe 15 seconds. It sort of sounds like. No warning lights on dash except a tire pressure warning light Trying to decide if it is worth fixing knowing the value is maybe at best 5,000. Thank you
Michelle, What a coincidence! We too discovered this same problem this week with our 2013 V (137k miles). I narrowed it down to the brake actuator / brake booster located inside the engine bay and just behind the steering column. Ours vibrates every 12-15 seconds when idle or driven. We too have no alerts on the dash and our basic tire/brake mechanic said that they did not see any codes when scanned. However, it's not doing what it should and has never done this before... and from reading and viewing videos online, it's likely the brake booster going bad. I'm having another mechanic look at the issue on Monday. The part costs $500+ OUCH! But the bright side is that I plan to resell the used part on eBay.
