Summary of Briefing on Honda Hydrogen Business Honda hasn't given up, and they now have a plan better than "built it, and they will come". They'll work on developing hydrogen ecosystems. Put in hydrogen power, and then build up infrastructure to support vehicles from there. They talk of hydrogen stationary because they want to sell fuel cells, but the idea could work around any point where green hydrogen is made. Say a green ammonia plant. With excess hydrogen projection, you then start using hydrogen trucks for shipping, and so on. I don't think it'll lead to hydrogen cars, but focusing on the 'big picture' of hydrogen and fuel cells has better chances of some success. The are some roles where hydrogen could be better than batteries, or at least supplement their supply. They do plan on a 2024 FCEV. This is the fuel cell that came out of the GM partnership. Claiming the cell is one third the cost of the one in the Clarity. What that one cost? Based on the CR-V, and will be a plug in. they are only planning on 2000 a year at this point.
