    Hello
My right rear taillight assembly was cracked and water was leaking into it so I had decided to replace it.
The replacement assembly that I purchased is a bit different as you can see from the attached file.
The original had a circuit board within the bottom of the assembly.
I have no idea what's the purpose of this circuit board is. The body harness feeds into the circuit board and from there it goes up to the brake light LED.
The new light assembly without this circuit board seems to work just fine so I am wondering what the purpose of it is.
It would be easy enough to splice the circuit board into the new assembly if it is necessary and has a purpose.
Can anyone assist me with an explanation?
    Thanks

The new light is updated and it doesn't need that board that board is old days now that's been eliminated at least in the aftermarket you don't want to go taking the new head or the new tail light apart to try and reinvent the wheel they've already done it for you if you want to take apart your tail lights and save the pieces I guess so bit I would think with tail lights now in the 40 $50 range probably not necessary to save the pieces that is
