I realize that Toyota keeps such things in secret. Still, the question is: is there a way to get technical drawings the car exterior, so that I could make a realistic 3D model based on them? Thank you in advance!
Check the Collision Repair manual. Lots of drawings, some of them dimensioned (but the dimensions are mostly between specific reference points on the bottom, the kind that are useful for making sure you got the frame straight in a repair). -Chap
You can DIY this one... Options: Most all cars have businesses who sell exact small scale replicas of vehicles, so you could get a CAD file from them or buy their product and use a desktop 3D scanner. Other option is to use a 3D scanning rig / rack to scan car-size objects... Also there's a phone app where you walk around an object and film it and it will reassemble it into a 3D object.
