We saw our first Tesla, Green, heading West on Wilshire Blvd somewhere around the Miracle Mile. No plates. Me and the wife couldn't help but give high fives to the driver, who waved back. Very likely a celeb, but we didn't recognize him. We saw a number of exoticars on the road, but only the Tesla was entirely silent going down the boulevard. Way Cool.
Omg, I think I just saw one in Davis, CA today! It was coming from the other direction, but I couldn't figure out what it was by looking at its front. I remember trying to get a good look at the emblem on the hood, but I couldn't place it. Then I looked at it in my rear-view mirror after it passed, and I realized what it was right away! The distinctive tail lights jogged my memory. The one I saw was a medium-light blue.
I was talking with my brother in law this evening and he casually said, "you were [visiting] when my neighbor brought home his Tesla, right?" WHA?! NO!!! So now I'm a little more anxious than usual to schedule a visit to my sister and her family.
Haven't seen any in Tennessee. Given the limited service areas outside CA, I don't know how deep the penetration is outside that area. Sounds like the car is making it - despite all the naysaying. This is the future (IMHO).
The fellow up the street from me has come home with at least 3 different Tesla's over the past year (that I've seen), all with dealer plates. First was Orange (over a year ago), second was blue, and the latest one was a very nice Red color. A fellow at work has a green one. I always take a nice, loooong look at it as I walk between buildings. Wonderful technology.
The owner of the company I work for just took delivery of one and had it at work today. Photos here: http://priuschat.com/forums/az-phoenix/69767-tesla-sighting-in-n-scottsdale.html#post969879
I saw one in the past few days in south San Jose. It was an orange one and it had the vanity plate EMF2 GO. IIRC, the 2 was superscripted. Side note: Since I've been back to the Bay Area, although I've been doing a lot more driving the months before I left WA, I've not seen many Leafs at all, compared to WA.
