Nothing is stored on the radio unless you are talking about the pre-filled responses. Everything you see is accessed from the phone and nothing remains there when you turn the car off.
Perhaps the OP doesn't mean "text messages" to mean the sort that we send between our cell phones. Maybe he means the warning messages that tell you not to play with the Nav while driving, etc.
