This should be obvious to even the disembrained but apparently not. Excellent opportunities here to save money and cut waste. Anyone here who works for a large corporation should take a look:

Every Company Needs a Corporate Energy Manager

I have done that sort of work for going on 12 years now. With energy bills that huge, every little saving really adds up

I didn't have a fancy title like "Corporate Energy Manager" either. At best, "Project Manager."

This seems like the sort of no brainer that people would have, in the main, figured out ages ago. Esp stuff like the recharging folklifts at a different time of day. That takes almost no effort and no capital investment... to save $15K/yr.

    I love this one:
A company could hire 12 new employees with that kind of waste. Bloody hell.

I'd rather be called the energy czar ... but the retirement thing (along with your whole family) aint such a good deal.

    :p

Then again, there are a lot of redundant and frivolous positions in large corporations that consume a lot of energy. Granted, an energy manager might justify a small percentage of the ever growing salaries of CEOs.

i have advocated for energy savings at every company i've worked at for the past 35 years. even doing a lot of work my self on the side for no extra pay. you would be surprised how luke warm the reactions are, even after showing solid results and savings.
