The Corn of the Future Is Hundreds of Years Old and Makes Its Own Mucus

There is a variety of corn that has a symbiotic relationship with nitrogen fixing bacteria that allows it to get needed nitrogen from the air. A commercial corn with even a fraction of this one's ability would mean reduced costs and environmental harm to go with fertilizer use.

Corn can actually be useful for things other than fattening kids, making cows taste good, and keeping people hooched up.
